Dear Friends of Musae,

Welcome to Musae's 2009-2010 season!

Having just celebrated our fifth anniversary, we enter this next year with renewed dedication and passion for our mission as an organization.

This season, we are proud to release our third album, Five, which showcases our collaboration with Brazilian band Bossa Five-O. We are so grateful to the generous supporters who made the album, and all of our music over the past five years, possible. Thanks to our donors, we will not only release our third recording, but also present our first commission: Dwight Okamura's setting of Dylan Thomas' "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night" for women's ensemble and viola accompaniment.

We have come this far in large part due to your financial support, and we can't continue now without it. Building momentum for the next five (or fifty!) years means organizing concerts, planning recordings, and commissioning new music. We must also book venues, hire instrumentalists, rent music, and solidify our organizational infrastructure. These efforts are integral to our goal of touching our community through music.

We believe we can achieve this ambitious goal, but only with help from donors like you. Income from ticket and CD sales covers only a portion of our annual expenses; we must raise over $15,000 of contributed income each year to balance our budget. Your support today will literally keep Musae singing this season, and for years to come.
