May 2023 Concert

Saturday May 6, 2023 • St Mark’s Lutheran • San Francisco

Musae welcomes new artistic director Elizabeth Kimble for a program that explores the multifaceted experience of identity, or as Walt Whitman so aptly put it, "I contain multitudes." Loosely based on the Maiden/Mother/Crone mythos and inspired by Elizabeth's studies of depth psychology, the program offers snapshots of our individual development and experiences: the innocence and helplessness of childhood, the tumultuous and shifting experiences of adolescence, the strength and suffering of adulthood, the wisdom of age, and the unifying force which ties it all together. The program includes music composed by Rosephanye Powell, Robert Kyr, Kathleen Allan, Ola Gjeilo, Elaine Hagenberg, the Wyrd Sisters, Marie-Claire Saindon, Libby Larson, Tadeja Vulc, and Joan Szymko.

We hope you enjoy the concert!
